What if your work didn’t matter? And, instead, you did?

What if your work didn’t really matter? What if there were no performance reviews and no bottom line? It does, and there are, but just for the fun of it, what if?

And, instead, what if you really matter? What if your attitude and actions around your work and your family and your social duties and commitments are what really matter?

Sometimes I suspect the really important things happen in between and around and over and under the things we think are the important. If that’s true, what would it mean? Would we take more responsibility for our behavior, tone of voice, body language, and comments? Would we listen better?  I’ll bet we would.

What do you think?
